Orange Molasses Cookies

Ingredients:

• All Purpose Flour – 2 Cups
• Baking Powder – 1 Teaspoon
• Baking Soda – 1 Teaspoon
• Ground Cinnamon – 2 ½ Teaspoons
• Ground Ginger – 1 Teaspoon
• Ground Cloves – ½ Teaspoon
• Ground Allspice – ¼ Teaspoon (optional)
• Salt – ¼ Teaspoon
• Sugar – 1 Cup (plus extra for rolling)
• Tree & Vine Blood Orange Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) – 11 Tablespoons
• Full Flavor Molasses – 1/3 Cup
• Egg – 1 Each

Method:

• Preheat oven to 375⁰ F
• Line sheet pan with parchment paper or silicone baking mat
• In large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, allspice & salt.
• In separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup sugar, EVOO, molasses and egg until well combined
• Gradually add flour mixture to sugar mixture being careful not to over mix
• Form dough into approximately ¾” balls.
• Roll each in the extra sugar.
• Place 2” apart on lined cookie sheet for 5 minutes to set.
• Bake for approximately 9-10 minutes
• Remove from oven and allow to cool on wire rack
• Cool completely and store in an airtight container
